Club Report 14th August 2022

Several days of glorious weather culminated in a gorgeous summer Sunday at Greeba. Conditions could not have been more perfect: warm, sunny and without a breath of wind; the stage was set for high scores and good times. Unfortunately, for most of the archers the day turned out to be a colossal disappointment which couldn’t … Continue reading Club Report 14th August 2022

IoM Archery Club Annual Windsor Trophy Shoot 2022

It was trophy time again on Sunday at Greeba with the Annual Windsor Shoot. The Windsor is divided purely by bow type with no gender differentiation. Everyone shoots the same distances 60, 50 and 40 yards (three dozen arrows at each distance) and the highest score in each division wins. The weather was reasonably decent … Continue reading IoM Archery Club Annual Windsor Trophy Shoot 2022

Club Report 31st July 2022

It was Trophy time again at Greeba as the Club held the annual York/Hereford shoot. At one time the York/Hereford was held every other week but was so loathed by the archers that the Records Officer decided to limit the misery to once a year. As it was, none of the Gents fancied trying the … Continue reading Club Report 31st July 2022

Club Report 24th July 2022

With a cycle race causing a rolling road closure on the TT circuit and keen not to lose yet another Sunday’s shooting, the Records Officer pulled the WA 900 round out of the bag. This is a three-quarter day shoot comprising of 30 arrows shot at each of three distances – 60, 50 and 40m, … Continue reading Club Report 24th July 2022

It was the Juniors’ turn to take centre stage on Sunday as they competed in their Club Championships. Isle of Man Archery Club Senior Championships 2022

For the first time this season, Greeba was treated to some decent weather, and it coincided with the Senior Club Championships. Club Report 12th June 2022

The changes to TT practice meant that the IoM Archery Club lost an extra Sunday of competition and so the handful of archers who turned up at Greeba at the weekend were shooting for the first time in three weeks, and it showed. On top of a lack of practice the weather continued to be … Continue reading Club Report 12th June 2022

Club Report 22nd May 2022

The weather was predicted to be windy but bright on Sunday, but it turned out to be calm and damp. A heavy mist rolled in and out at the far end of the field, the 90m boss all but disappearing at times. The lack of wind which made shooting easier, was counterbalanced by the swarms … Continue reading Club Report 22nd May 2022
