Club Report 29th June 2024

With the York/Hereford and Windsor Trophies up for grabs in the coming weeks it was time to practice some National rounds at Greeba. National rounds are shot over distances measured in yards rather than metres and have Five zone scoring, that is 9/7/5/3/1. This also gave Erin Hainge the opportunity to get comfortable with the … Continue reading Club Report 29th June 2024

Club Report 23rd June 2024

The Junior Club Championships were held amid scorching temperatures at Greeba on Sunday. The best weather of the year so far saw three of the Club’s young archers go for glory in a Short Metric round differentiated by age, gender and bow type. Sadly, with all the children in different age categories there was no … Continue reading Club Report 23rd June 2024

Club Report 16th June 2024

With the forecast looking bleak all week, it was a relief when Sunday dawned bright and clear allowing the annual Senior Club Championships to go ahead. With everyone prepared for inclement weather, the surprisingly warm conditions had many removing thermal layers before the round even began. Everyone was glad to be back in action after … Continue reading Club Report 16th June 2024

Club Report 24/25th May 2024

A small contingent of archers made their way across the water to Tyneside to compete in a Double 1440 hosted by Cleadon Archers in Bolden near Sunderland at the weekend. The group comprised of Compound archers Rhys Moore, Aalin George and Dave Moore with Ethan Moore joining the team on route. The Recurve side of … Continue reading Club Report 24/25th May 2024

Club Report 19th May 2024

The weather forecast promised ideal shooting conditions, but Greeba refused to play ball as the shooting range fell victim to a cold blustery wind. The archers either found themselves battered on the shooting line or watched their arrows being blown off centre at the boss as the wind back and veered over the course of … Continue reading Club Report 19th May 2024

Club Report 12th May 2024

It was another warm day at Greeba but this week there was a tricky wind to handle which swirled around the bosses causing a few problems. The round of the day was a WA 720. 72 arrows shot at a single distance: 70m for Recurve, 50m for Compound and Barebows. With Rhys Moore off the … Continue reading Club Report 12th May 2024

Club Report 5th May 2024

The skies were overcast at Greeba for most of the day but the promised showers did not materialize and there wasn’t a breath of wind. All in all, perfect shooting conditions. The round of the day was once again a WA1440 for those with the time to shoot all day, with a range of other … Continue reading Club Report 5th May 2024

Club Report 28th April & 21st April Results

For once the sun was shining at Greeba, but a constant northerly wind blew into the archers faces allday and made shooting a chore. The field had dried out enough to allow for full distances to be shotand the round of the day was supposed to be a full 1440 – 36 arrows at each … Continue reading Club Report 28th April & 21st April Results

Club Report 14th April 2024

After a dreadful start to the Outdoor season, weather wise, the archers of IoMAC finally got a break and enjoyed near perfect shooting weather on Sunday at Greeba. Ground conditions were very soggy but nothing that appropriate footwear couldn’t handle. With the field waterlogged at the far end, shooting distances were restricted to 70m so … Continue reading Club Report 14th April 2024

Club Report 24th March 2024

In what turned out to be the last shoot of the Indoor Season, the archers tackled a Vegas. This mind-bending round consists of a three-spot target face, arranged in a triangle, and shot in order: bottom left, top centre, bottom right. It is easily the hardest of the indoor rounds and requires an even higher … Continue reading Club Report 24th March 2024
