Numbers were a little down on Sunday as was to be expected given it was Mothers’ Day. Those who did attend shot a Worcester as part of the Club’s Scratch League.
In the Gents Compound division Les Corran, who has been going from strength to strength, put in a personal best score dropping just 5 points over the course of the shoot. Unfortunately for Les, he was up against Rhys Moore. Rhys hates the Worcester because he finds it too easy and proved his point by maxing the score to take the win.
Marie Hainge, who had the ladies Compound division all to herself also put in a personal best score to take the win unopposed.
David Craine, Johnathan Gordan and Richard Hainge took to the shooting line in the Gents Recurve and more personal best scores landed -there must have been something in the air. David’s best ever score was only good enough for third place, but he was delighted with his showing. Richard Hainge was back on top form, the recent Coaching weekend clearly having helped, he dropped only 10 points on his way to victory and a new pb. Johnathan sent one arrow wide of the target and had to settle for second.
Erin Hainge was the only Lady Recurver in evidence on Sunday. An unusual miss by her put a bit of a dent in an otherwise solid performance.
Colin Moore thrashed Ralf Mitchell in the Gents Barebow, taking the win by 117 points. The heavy defeat did little to quell the irrepressible flow of nonsensical small talk.
Stan Gorry took the win unopposed in the Gents Tradbow, as did Peter Howland in the Gents Longbow.
Staying on in the afternoon session Richard Hainge and Les Corran shot a double round for which both men recorded personal best scores.
