7 archers from the club made the trip UK for a triple header. The first part was a double 1440 on Saturday and Sunday at Greenlane Archers in Ashington. The weather was kind and hopes were high for good scores.
On the Recurve side father and daughter combo Rich and Erin Hainge had a successful completion. Erin posted strong scores on both days, finishing second in senior ladies division. While Rich was attending his first outdoor record status shoot was a little down on his normal scores, but his consistency earned him second place overall.
The Compound Team were all looking to secure good scores to round out the year. Les Corran was away for his first off Island competition and was in flying form, adding 50 points to his P.B. on the Saturday and then another 30 points on the Sunday to break 1200 for the first time. Aalin George cruised through the competition and came first overall in the senior ladies. David Moore had a quite weekend breaking in a new bow and was happy with the progress. Meanwhile both Rhys and Ethan Moore were in the hunt for their final classification scores. Rhys needed to post 2 full Grand Master Bowman scores and did so in fine form. Ethan was chasing a Master Bowman for the first time and secured it on the first day, followed by a P.B. on the Sunday. David, Ethan and Rhys also came away with the team first place.
After a quick location change southbound to Cleadon, the team took on a double 720 on the bank holiday Monday. Erin and Rich shot well in the heat and Erin came away with a second place in the senior ladies overall. Les pushed on with his P.B. run and secure one in the morning and improving again in the afternoon. Aalin secured a 3rd place finish while the Moore boys shot some good scores but didn’t manage to place overall.
